Plenary — Innovation days
Talk duration: 20-minute talk + 5-minute Q&A
Walk-on music: we ask our Plenary speakers to choose their own walk-on music to be played as you make your entrance on stage. Please suggest an appropriate song and artist that is suitable for playing to a large audience by Friday 18 April. Breakout (on site) — Innovation days
Talk duration: 10-minute talk + 2-minute Q&A + 15-minute panel discussion
Presentation format: all on-site Breakout talks will be live streamed to the virtual conference platform with the exception of Gene regulation, Human medical research, and the Bioinformatics on the 22 May, which will be on site only. The Epitranscriptomics breakout will be recorded
Virtual platform: live-streamed and recorded talks will then be available on demand on the virtual conference platform until 29 May 2025

Spotlight — Innovation days
Talk duration: The Spotlight session typically features three early-career scientists each delivering a 2-minute pitch to the audience for the chance to present a 10-minute talk with the theme ‘How nanopore sequencing is changing my field of research’. The audience will then vote for the presentation they would most like to see, which will take place the following day. These talks will be followed by a 5-minute Q&A for the winner and a 2-minute Q&A for the runners-up. Your 2-minute pitch should show delegates exactly why they should vote to see your full talk in the Auditorium the following day, with a teaser of the exciting work you will be presenting. As London Calling 2025 brings together a wide range of research areas, it is important to keep your pitch and your full talk broad to ensure anyone can follow the science you are presenting. Previous pitches have featured: a theft in Hobbiton, why MinION is like a mobile phone, and even a poem about Bordetella pertussis. Presentation format: All three Spotlight session participants will deliver their full talks on site at the conference — the winning talk will be given in the Auditorium and live-streamed to the virtual audience, and the runner-up talks will take place in the following break

Workflow demo — Innovation days
Talk duration: following a 5-minute talk from an Oxford Nanopore speaker, Workflow demo speakers will give a 3- to 5-minute presentation. This will be followed by a 5-minute Q&A session, taking questions from the audience
