Presenter information guide

19–21 May 2026

Preparing your presentation slides

  • The final slide submission deadlines are Friday 3 April for on-demand speakers and Thursday 23 April for on-site presenters

  • All slides are requested in advance as they are subject to regulatory review upon submission

  • Slide amendments after the submission deadline will need to be requested and agreed with [email protected]

  • Once approved, slides will be collated into a central slide deck, which will be locked on Friday 8 May

  • The products provided by Oxford Nanopore Technologies are currently for research use only. As they have not been submitted for review to any regulatory agency/notified body for clinical diagnostics, caution must be exercised when describing the application of nanopore sequencing products in the clinical research field. Please ensure you have read the Clinical research presentations — requirements for materials guidance in advance of preparing your presentation

  • Please now select the applicable tab for your presentation type:

Style and terminology guide preferences:

While you are of course free to write in your own style, please find below some style conventions that we use for consistency.

Convention We avoid using Notes
Oxford Nanopore

Oxford Nanopore Technologies

Oxford Nanopore sequencing

nanopore sequencing
NGS/third-generation/long-read sequencing Oxford Nanopore sequencing has a unique combination of features and benefits, and we describe it as a standalone category
Any-length reads
Long-read capabilities
'Long-read sequencing'
'Long-read sequencer'
'Long-read sequencer' is a misleading categorisation; the platform has multiple properties that include the ability to sequence any-length fragments of DNA/RNA

Other considerations when preparing your slides:

  • Please note that commercial entities must adhere to the scientific nature of the meeting, and so not be overtly advertorial in tone or promote the virtues of a specific product without adequate data to support the argument

  • To aid audience comprehension, please write all acronyms in full the first time they are used.

Notable exceptions include DNA, RNA, PCR, and cDNA

  • Please do not add any additional Oxford Nanopore logos to your presentation slides unless you are an agreed affiliated partner of
    Oxford Nanopore

  • If you are using any fonts in your slides that do not come as standard on the Microsoft Office suite, the fonts will likely default to the standard form and the appearance of your slides may change. To avoid this issue, please embed the fonts in your presentation as follows: click the File tab, then click Options, and navigate to the Save tab. At the bottom, you will see Preserve fidelity when sharing this presentation where you can select Embed fonts in the file check box

  • If you plan to have any video or audio embedded into your presentation, please let [email protected] know which slides these appear in when you submit

  • Please be advised that the title slide of your presentation will be replaced with a title graphic slide, which will be created with your name, affiliation, and talk title as agreed at invitation

Submitting your slides:

  • Prior to submitting slides, we recommend checking them for any spelling or formatting issues, and to ensure any images do not appear blurry

  • When you are ready to submit your slides please click the button below.

This will take you to a Dropbox folder where you can drag and drop your PowerPoint slides for us to access

  • Please use your FULL name and version number in the filename for ease of identification, e.g. FULL NAME_LC26_V1

We really appreciate all the time and effort you have put in to create your slides — thank you!
